09/14/09 Warrior’s Society Weekly News

In this issue:

1. Trails4All Inner-Coastal & Watershed Cleanup next Saturday, September 19th.

2. Registration for the 2010 Vision Quest and Counting Coup to begin at mid-night on October 1st.

1. TRAILS4ALL INNER-COASTAL & WATERSHED CLEANUP NEXT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH.

Below is information on this Saturday’s cleanup. The SHARE Mountain Bike Club and the Warrior’s Society will be assisting with the cleanup of Trabuco Canyon (The Canyon that leads to the Holy Jim Trail). We will be meeting at the location where the finish line is for our Pow Wow and Traverse Events.

Trails4All’s “Inner-Coastal & Watershed Cleanup”, held each year on the third Saturday of September* in conjunction with “California Coastal Cleanup Day”, takes place at over thirty locations in twenty-six Orange County communities this year. Our volunteers “clean the beach” by getting the trash out of our rivers and creeks BEFORE it gets there.

* (We also have a number of cleanups scheduled out along the greater Santa Ana River Watershed in the Inland Empire, but we do these during the month of October when (hopefully) it’s a bit cooler.)

Go to our website at www.trails4all.org and check any sites that seem interesting for specific details and contact information. Also, feel free to contact me directly if you have questions.

If you are interested in an actual Beach Cleanup, there are plenty of opportunities as well. Contact Angeline Santiago at CleanUpOC@occr.ocgov.com for more information.

Again, thank you for your interest.

2. REGISTRATION FOR THE 2010 VISION QUEST AND COUNTING COUP EVENTS TO BEGIN AT MIDNIGHT ON OCTOBER 1ST.

We will be updating our web pages for these events with the new changes for 2010. The prices will remain the same but the date has been changed to late March instead of early March to allow for more sunlight at the start. We plan on having the pages updated a few days prior to the beginning of registration.
