1. REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THE 7TH ANNUAL 50 MILE RIDE FOR RWANDA EVENT, SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2013

The 7th Annual 50 Mile Ride for Rwanda event will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013. REGISTRATION is now open!
Whether you ride the full 50 Miler, the 25 Miler, or the 10 Miler – organizers know you’re going to love this year’s Rwanda Ride. The event planning team has already dreamed up some fun new ideas to make this year’s event the biggest and best ever. And generous sponsors are lining up again to help make this year’s prize raffle the largest one yet! Mark your calendars now for April 27, 2013. More details and registration at www.50mr.com .

2. TRAIL WORK TO BEING ON POW WOW COURSE

Beginning this month the Warrior’s Society will begin performing brush work and earthwork on the trails that will be ridden at the 2013 Mountain Bike Pow Wow (Vision Quest and Counting Coup events).

This work will include earthwork on the Silverado Trail, earth work/grade stabilizers on the Switchbacks on the Holy Jim Trail above the falls as well as brushing on all the trails in Trabuco Canyon.

As the event draws near we will be releasing updates to keep you informed of the latest news.

3. COUNTY SUPERVISOR BILL CAMPBELL TERMED OUT

County Supervisor Bill Campbell was termed out of his district and has been replaced by Todd Spitzer.

We thank Bill Campbell for his support of the recreation/trail community and balanced approach to development in the canyons and foothill. We wish him the best in the future.

We look forward to working with Todd Spitzer to carry on Bill’s legacy.
