Check-In / Race Day Instructions for the Switchback 6-Hours of Orange County

SWITCHBACK 6-HOURS OF O.C. PACKET/CHECK-IN TIMES AND RACE RULES:

1. Each team or solo rider will get a punch card to carry with them. After every lap the corresponding number will be punched on the card. After you complete each lap a sticker with the time you completed the lap will be placed under your team name (or if you are a solo rider by your first and last names) on the lap board.

If you did not provide a team name your team name will be made up of the first letter of the team member’s last names in alphabetical order.

2. The punch card will be in a necklace form so it is easy to carry around your neck. You must have your team punch card with the rider who is on the course. If the punch card is lost you will be deducted one lap. Consider tucking the punch card into your jersey when on the course to protect it.

3. Only laps completed within the six hour period will count. If you go out for one last lap, but don’t get back until after the 6 hour period has expired, that lap won’t count.

4. Only ONE rider from a team is allowed on the course at a time.

5. For teams, each rider must ride at least one lap or the team will be disqualified.

6. The Rider Number must be visible on the front of the bike

7. You are responsible for your own fluids and food while on the course.

8. No outside support allowed on the course unless it is from a racer in the event.

9. Only the Junior Riders (14 and under) are allowed necessary support needed on the course for mechanicals.

10. You must dis-mount your bike thru the transition area…if you do not dismount 10 minutes will be added to your time!

11. Riders/Teams registered as Novice MUST ride the novice downhill.

12. Riders/Teams registered as Expert MUST ride the expert downhill.

13. Helmets are mandatory – even on the climbs.

14. NO CUTTING COURSE: there will be check-points thru-out the course you have to pass. Any solo riders/teams caught cheating will be banned from all Warrior’s Society events in 2006. The course will be more than adequately marked so there’s no excuse for “getting lost.”

15. If you have a major mechanical or injury, run to the next check-point and they will call to the transition area and your new rider can go on the course and you will be escorted back and your lap will not be counted if a new rider leaves.
