Troy gets 1st place in DH and XC at Deer Valley

Troy at Deer Valley Written by James Sladeck

Troy and I made a trip to Deer Valley Utah last weekend (July 9th and 10th).  Troy raced cross country and downhill and took 1st place in both.

The competition was tough.  All the kids were locals and were used to climbing at 9,000 feet elevation.  Troy finished so fast on the cross country, they put him on the stage and he had his first live interview.   He races in the 10 under category but ended up beating every kid from age 12 and under.  I would guess at least 10 or more racers.

The downhill was super technical with rocks and roots.  Flat tires, chains jamming etc., we've never had so many problems but Troy ran his bike up when he needed to (couldn't pedals with the chain jammed) and beat the next kid by 40 seconds.

Thanks everybody for your interest.
